“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,” Ephesians 4:1
What on earth am I here for? Is the question that you probably have asked yourself multiple times .The quest to discover our true identity , our mission, our gifting, our positioning, our plans has filled the libraries with books and universities with students all trying to perfect ,discover ,recover their purpose in life. Well I have good news for you and it’s simply that God has a plan for you even before you were born:
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
Discovering your purpose is pretty simple, God has not made it complicated at all. Firstly as I help you discover why you are here on earth for, two things you have to promise me is that 1. You have to be absolutely honest with yourself 2. Remember this: Whatever purpose God has called you to fulfil he hid it in your heart –the safest place.
The discovery process of your purpose is based on evaluating yourself based on two principles, the first being the WILD principle of and the WIGA principle. Don’t get confused these are acronyms to help you with remembering.
WILD principle– this stands for WHAT I LIKE DOING this is the first but not only principle that you use to evaluate and discover your purpose .once you find out what you like doing and are comfortable at doing you apply the:
WIGA principle– WHAT I AM GOOD AT this is when you look into your aptitude ,strengths, experiences ,gifts ,intelligence and personality trait to find out what are you good at . P.s don’t cheat yourself, be honest with yourself if you are not good in singing rather give the microphone to those who are gifted in this area.
After mixing these two simple yet profound principles and aligning them with God’s holy word and universal purpose to go into the world and make disciples of every nation, you have discovered your purpose in life, go ahead and leave it out. For some you might need to increase knowledge in a particular field under the WIGA principle ,go ahead and go to school, take extra classes , spend more time on the sports field or in the studio ,find a mentor ,do whatever it takes but don’t ever settle for less when God has the best for you and its all found when you are fulfilling your God given purpose .REST!!
